A Plan of Action That Will Make a Difference.

About Me

I am a naturally curious, hard-working and conscientious person. Although I am interested in many things, I chose to be a psychologist because it allows me to work with children while also allowing me to discover, explore and forge new paths.I am a graduate of Carleton University (B.A. Hons) and Simon Fraser University (M.A & Ph.D). I am trained as a clinical psychologist with an emphasis on child clinical psychology. I have been registered for 10 years and I have been doing assessments for 15+ years.I am also a mother, wife, runner, cyclist, gardener, knitter, and traveler. I love to cook, exercise, learn new things, and make my children smile.

my assessments

My assessments are comprehensive and evidence-based. Every assessment is individually tailored to your child's needs. It usually involves an in-depth dive into the following skills and abilities:-overall intellectual capacity
-language
-memory
-visual-spatial processing
-working speed (processing speed)
-problem solving
-math, reading, writing and oral language
-fine motor control
-attention and executive functioning
-social-emotional needs and strengths
-social responsivity (optional)
Children are often referred to me for the following concerns or questions:-Learning Disorders (e.g., dyslexia, math LD, dysgraphia, written output)
-Slow learning
-Memory challenges
-Attention concerns and ADHD
-Executive Functioning
-Gifted learner
-Intellectual disability
-Anxiety or mental health co-ocurring with learning challenges.
-Social challenges co-occuring with academic skills weaknesses.
When working with children, youth and young adults my first goal is to build a relationship. This connection helps to reduce anxiety and promote better effort which makes the assessment information more reliable and useful. I also strive to pique their curiosity about their own learning to help them feel like this assessment is meaningful to them as well as their parents and teachers. My goal is to help children/youths, and his/her parents, understand their strengths and areas of vulnerability so that more effective interventions and supports can be put into place.
